Maine Prosecutorial Districts
There are eight prosecutorial districts that serve the state of Maine. Prosecutorial districts are set by statute in 30-A M.R.S. § 254. Every district attorney has the authority to appoint a Deputy District Attorney for their prosecutorial district. Assistant district attorneys are appointed by their respective District Attorney and serve at the District Attorney’s will.
